CLINICAL EVIDENCE
- Researchers from the University of Naples in
Italy conducted a multicenter, randomized, double blind study to determine
the effects of 30 mg of serratiopeptidase on 193 subjects. Statistical
analysis revealed significant support of respiratory health in subjects
given serratiopeptidase as compared to the placebo. (Mazzone, 1990)
- In an open label trial, researchers examined
29 subjects who received either 30 mg/day of serrapeptase or a placebo.
After 4 weeks, the group receiving serrapeptase experienced a significant
improvement in respiratory function. There was no significant change in the
control group. (Nakamura et al, 2003)
