Several Stages

Not only does the AllerAir 5000-UV come complete with both carbon and HEPA filters, it can also safeguard an ambient air environment against various airborne bacteria, viral particles, as well as other infectious matter.

• At the first level, an extra dense "PROCAP" media pre-filter captures airborne particles like dust and pet dander. This filter can be easily vacuumed clean or can be replaced in 10 seconds flat!
• Next, 15 pounds of a specially blended media of coconut shell carbon and zeolite absorbs and oxidizes odors, gases and chemicals such as formaldehyde and sulfur dioxide.
• Next, 66 square feet of True, Laser-Tested HEPA media to trap and oxidize 99.97% of the tiniest particles including dust, pollen, molds, asbestos filbers, bacteria, among others, down to 0.3 micron in size.
• Any virus or pathogens that pass through the HEPA are killed by the germicidal ultraviolet light. Air circulates around the unique "J-Bulb" design allowing for exposure time, which in turn kills pathogens. The AllerAir 5000-UV will lower bacterial count more than if it were done through ventilating a room at a rate of 100 air exchanges per hour.

Why UV units are needed

With the AllerAir 5000-UV unit in use, viruses, bacteria and mold are destroyed. These airborne endotoxins can cause fever, sap energy, affect white blood cell levels, as well as lead to respiratory and gastrointestinal distress. Microscopic fungi (yeast and mold) are typically carried through the air. High indoor humidity can help sustain spores, which can then attack living cells, and hence cause infection.
