the heart and blood vessels. Gynostemma, Reishi, Notoginseng,
Tibetan Rhodiola, Deer Antler, Astragalus, and Cordyceps have

There are a number of less well known herbs that have been

and leaf extracts), Ilex pubescens extract, Carthamus flower,

Ginkgo biloba is now well known to protect blood vessels. An
herb known as Crataegus, or more commonly as Hawthorn Berry,
contains powerful antioxidants that protect the vascular system.
The Chinese have been using Crataegus for this purpose for over
a thousand years. Many of the Chinese tonic herbs have
cholesterol regulating capacity, Reishi, Notoginseng and
Crataegus being among the more powerful.
It has also been recently reported that as many as 30% of all
cases of heart failure may be due to chronic inflammatory
conditions, which cause ulceration in the large vessels around
the heart and ultimately cause severe plaque formation.
Gynostemma has been found to reduce these inflammatory lesions
and to lower the incidence of heart disorder. The immune
modulating herbs are beneficial at building the immune system
