Faucet Diverter (15/16" 27 threads)
The Technos,
Masterpiece and Mavello Water
Ionizers come with a Faucet Diverter that attaches to the faucet
by removing the aerator from the faucet and screwing on the Faucet
Diverter. You do not need to give up the use of your sink
when you install your water ionizer. Once you have attached
the Faucet Diverter to your faucet, you can continue to use the
sink as you normally do, then divert the water into the Water Ionizer
when you wish to use it by turning the blue handle on the Faucet
Diverter. The Faucet Diverter that
comes with your unit is a standard 15/16" (27 thread) male fitting,
which fits most standard faucets. Everything else you will
need will be included with the unit when you receive it. Solutions does not assume any responsibility for
the installation of the Water Ionizers it sells. Nor does
it assume responsibility or additional costs for the purchase of
plumbing hardware expenses that may be incurred during the installation
of any of its products, including Water Ionizers.
If you have threads inside the faucet
(female threads) you will need a 15/16" Male Adapter (27 threads
- 9D). This can be purchased at any hardware and is a
very common item. If the threads are slightly smaller than
the 15/16" Faucet Diverter, you may have a 13/16" faucet in which
case you will need to purchase a 15/16" X 13/16" adapter.
These are also commonly available at hardware stores. Solutions
does not sell plumbing supplies of any kind.
Basic Operation
Jupiter Water Ionizers come with 3 feet (1 meter)
of 1/4" plastic non-toxic tubing that connects to the Water Ionizer
and is used for the acid Ionized Water tube which drapes into the
sink. All Water Ionizers produce both Acid and Alkaline Ionized
Water simultaneously, 70% of the water coming out the silver stainless
steel flexible Tube, 30% of the Water coming out of the plastic
hosing from the bottom of the unit.
Where to Install
Your Water Ionizer
Water Ionizers can be installed at any sink in the house, most commonly
in the kitchen or bathroom. Jupiter Water Ionizers can sit
on the counter or can be hung from wall next to your sink.
Two holes in the back of the units are provided for hanging the
unit. Water Ionizers will not work properly if one attempts
to operate it from underneath your sink.
Installation
Time
Typical installation takes approximately 10 minutes and is not a
difficult operation.
Jupiter Water Ionizer Installation
Step 1: Screw in Stainless Steel tube to the top of the
unit.
Step 2: Remove aerator from the faucet
and attach Faucet Diverter to Faucet. If you have threads
inside the faucet (female threads) you will need a 15/16" Male Adapter
(27 threads - 9D).
Step 3: Cut plastic hose that comes with your Water Ionizer
in half.

Step 4: Attach
one hose to the Faucet Diverter using a hose clamp at the of the
hose to leaks. Attach the other end to the bottom of the Water
Ionizer marked INLET.

Step 5: Place
one of the hose clamps at the end of the INLET tube to prevent leaks.
Attach the other hose to the bottom of the Water Ionizer labeled
OUTLET and drape the tube into the sink.
Step 6:
Plug the unit into an electrical outlet.
Step 7: Turn on the faucet and begin running water through
the unit. The Water Ionizer will turn on automatically.
Technos Water Ionizer: The Technos does not have an on
and off button. Water pressure will turn the unit on.
The unit will automatically go into cleaning mode for 30 seconds
then switch to drinking mode. A song (Home Sweet Home)
plays when the unit is in cleaning mode and Acid Ionized Water is
coming out of the stainless steel tube on top of the unit, and Alkaline
Ionized Water is coming out the tube in the bottom of the unit.
Never drink Acid Ionized Water.
Mavello Water Ionizer: The Mavello has an ON/OFF switch
in the back of the unit and a power button in front of the unit.
Both must be turned on for the unit to work. The Mavello will
automatically come on in cleaning mode and will remain in cleaning
mode indefinitely until the unit is manually switched into drinking
mode by pushing one of the 4 numbered buttons on the top half of
the control panel. The cleaning mode will not automatically
come on after that unless the unit is turned completely in the back
of the unit and then turned back on. The cleaning mode
duration and operation is not clear in the Mavello operating manual
and has caused some confusion.
Designer faucets
The most difficult faucets
to attach a water ionizer to are designer faucets. Often they
are simply not suitable for use with a Water Ionizer because the
fittings are unusual sizes. Since there are dozens of these
types of faucets on the market, Solutions is unable to supply the
fittings that may be required to install a water ionizer to these
faucets. If you are unable to find the proper fittings for
your designer faucet, you may want to consider hooking up the Water
Ionizer to another sink in your house.
Hard Plumbing the Water
Ionizer to Your Water Line
The term hard-plumbed means
to attach the Water Ionizer directly into the water line instead
of at a faucet with our Faucet Diverter. Plumbing supplies
can be purchased at any hardware store, however, plumbing expertise
will be needed for direct connection into your water line.
Universal Fitting
Jupiter Water Ionizers come with a universal fitting
that will allow you to attach the unit to many, but not all, types
of faucets such as bar faucets that have no threads on the end of
them to attach anything to. Please be aware, however, that
this type of fitting quite often leaks and is not recommended for
long-term use.
Other Possibilities
for Connecting Your Water Ionizer
Besides hard-plumbing the unit directly into your water line, you
can also attached your unit to a Gooseneck Faucet.
This is a small faucet usually installed at right corner of the
sink and is often referred to as a drinking water faucet.
To use the water ionizer with this faucet, slip the end of the feed-line,
which attaches to the INLET of the back of the unit, over the end
of the faucet then secure it with a 1/4" screw-type hose clamp that
can be obtained at any hardware store.
Solutions does not assume any responsibility
for installation of its Water Ionizers. Nor does it assume
responsibility or additional costs for the purchase of plumbing
hardware expenses that may be incurred during the installation of
any of its products, including Water Ionizers.
